“How do I know if the Corolla I have has an Australian built, or Import engine?”

If this question arises, the quickest and easiest way to answer yourself, is to inspect the rocker cover.

The manifold side (right hand side viewed from the flywheel) of the rocker cover on the Australian engine is straight and uses the JN356 rocker cover gasket. On the imported engine, the manifold side of the rocker cover is wavy and uses the JN591 rocker cover gasket.
