Re-Usable Components

It is always good practice to keep used components aside until the job at hand has been completed. This not only assists in part recognition and fault diagnosis, but it will also prevent re-usable components from being disposed of by mistake.

Today we are finding an increasing number of engines are being manufactured with re-usable camshaft plugs or half-moon seals. Often these may be manufactured of steel, alloy and hard plastics.

Care should be taken to ensure these components are not thrown out as they may not be included in gasket sets, and in some cases are not available at an aftermarket or genuine parts suppliers.
